MACHINIST III

Job Responsibilities

•  Sets up and operates drills and drilling machines on component parts and assemblies as required. Operates other machines previously set up, producing less complex parts.

• Performs all QC inspection requirements and labor reporting.

• Assists in process improvements, manufacturing system changes, etc.

• Performs routine tool and machine maintenance, lubrication, and cleaning as required. Keeps general work area neat, organized and clean using appropriate cleaning supplies and equipment.

• Follows safety protocol OSHA and Quality processes to insure the safety of self and others as well as the company building and its contents. Adheres to rules such as no drug use, and no alcohol within 8 hours prior to or during work hours, while operating machinery or ever on the premises. Takes initiative to report and, if able, correct unsafe situations.

• Works overtime if needed to help meet customer delivery date or make up lost time.

• Learn to recognize if DeBurr is needed and to deburr parts

 Basic Skills Required

•  Proficiency in applicable machining methods and materials.

• Blueprint reading/shop math.

• Proficiency in applicable precision measuring methods.

 Machinery/Equipment Used

• Drill Press, hand and drill motor, engine lathe, bridgeport

• Verbal instruction.

• Blueprints and related shop paperwork.
